25% drop in car accidents in Israel in 2009

The toll of car accidents in Israel has decreased by 25% during the first 8 months of 2009, according to the car safety national beauru in Israel. 293 people died in 2008 and 219 people died in 2009 which makes approximately 25% drop in the road accidents. If we compare this year’s result with 2004, the drop is even more significant from 359 to 219 (39% drop). Here is a great source that summarizes the trends in Israel and some bench mark to other countries as well.

The most interesting insight that came to mind was… 0.5% (1 out of 200) persons are hurt every year from car accidents. There are 4 members in my family, so the chance of any person of my family to get hit by a car accident is 2% every year. Since the average life expectancy in Israel is over 70. The chance that one of the family members will be hit by a car accident is over 140%… This makes it a problem for every person in Israel and on the face of this planet.

LET’S TAKE A STAND TOGETHER TO MAKE OUR PLANET SAFER!

I have planned to launch a new business in 2009 that will be centrally focused on reducing the car accidents globally.  I have even planned to sign agreements with several vendors with proven technology that can reduce car accidents by 50%.  My long term goal is to diminish the total amount of people getting injured from car accidents per year by 99% or more… Currently 40 Million people are hurt globally every year. I think this can be reduced to less than 100K in 20 years which makes a drop of more than 99%.

Anyone who wants to join me in this cause is more than welcome!
