Seeking for a job and moving into China by yourself might sound like a too big adventure and indeed can be a challenge, but if your desire to search for the “perfect life” is big enough and would bring you into China, you are expected to find your efforts were worth it!
Daily life in China can be odd or surprising sometimes, but are full with “candies and sweets” as well.
Working and living in China would give you the opportunity to improve a valuable useful language and enrich yourself with the Colorful Chinese Culture and flavors. China is blessed with beautiful sceneries, sacred sites and historic spots which are reachable on weekends thanks to the renewed and renovated Railways and its developed and convenient Air Transport.
Today’s China is not supposed to be a Cultural shock anymore, mainly in the big and semi-big cities. There is a variety of good restaurants beside small simple diners, serving different cuisines from all around the world, and YES, Good bakeries and fresh milk (Also a low fat one..) can be easily found!
The night life scene in the big cities includes many well designed bars, clubs, and discotheques and as an attractive location for expats, you may enjoy the Chun jie (The Chinese New Year), Christmas, and Hanukkah almost at the same time.
Life in China is still relatively very cheap, especially when comparing to Israel and you can afford more with less.
While buying your groceries in a Chinese supermarket, you may need perhaps to get used to some new ingredients or change few of your habits, but the total cost would be surprisingly cheap.
Taking a bus or a metro may be very crowded in rush hours, but still only costs between 1-2 Rmb (~ 0.6-~1.2 Nis).
Rent and bills payments in a 1-2 bedrooms apartment in the center of a big city is usually low priced comparing to the same apartment in the big cities in Israel.
You may also find yourself becoming very spoiled and benefit from a new high standard of living, enjoying a foot massage every weekend, eating more outside and even having your own “A-yi”, a “Nanny” in Chinese who would cook, clean and take care of all your daily needs.
As a growing consuming society, great modern malls are built everywhere in China. While the prices there are similar to what you are used to in Israel, there are a lot of good cheap markets where you can “demonstrate” your bargaining abilities and buy good stuff in some ridiculous prices.
Furthermore, many people around the globe, exactly like you, are searching their way into China. As a result, you are expected to meet many new people, friends and acquaintances (And therefore, to dramatically enlarge of course your Facebook list of “friends”:-)).
